NIMIA collects nothing about you on its own, and the three features that send anything are off until you switch them on.

NIMIA, The Bard Lost in Limbo
NIMIA has no account, no telemetry, no analytics and no crash reporting of its own. Left alone, it sends nothing anywhere.
Three features can send something: the YouTube music source, the Discord status and the Discord bot. All three are off until you switch them on, and each has a section below.
Tomáš Kypta, Radkov 37, 391 31 Radkov, Czech Republic, IČO 29874599, support@nimiaapp.com. This policy covers the NIMIA app and this website.
Your settings, saved scenes and presets, the paths to music you import, and the YouTube list described below. They stay in NIMIA's folder on your PC.
With the built-in library as the music source and no Discord bot set up, NIMIA makes no connections to the internet. The YouTube source connects to YouTube while you use it, and once you save a bot token, NIMIA connects to Discord every time it starts.
Microsoft handles the purchase under the Microsoft Privacy Statement. It gives the developer aggregate sales and download figures, and may show crash reports that Windows collected for NIMIA, which are used only to fix problems.
NIMIA uses YouTube API Services. Switch the music source to YouTube in Settings and NIMIA opens a YouTube player window that plays the videos you choose.
The player is YouTube's own. It shows content and ads served by YouTube, Google receives information about your use of it, and it may store cookies or similar data on your computer, all under Google's Privacy Policy. NIMIA has no Google account or sign-in and passes nothing about what you watch to anyone.
NIMIA itself keeps a list of up to 20 videos you played, with their titles and channel names, on your PC. A video you have not played for 30 days drops off the list.
Settings → Session → Discord Status is off until you turn it on. Turned on, NIMIA tells the Discord app on your PC what NIMIA is playing, and Discord shows it under your name to whoever can see your profile.
What it sends:
Two things to know before you switch it on. The track name is the one the app shows, and for music you imported yourself that name comes from your own filename. So your filenames become visible to anyone who can see your Discord profile.
And when the music source is YouTube, the track line is cleared and nothing about the video is published.
NIMIA hands this to the Discord app on your PC, not over the internet. What Discord does with it is governed by Discord's Privacy Policy. Switching the setting off clears the status.
The bot is off until you paste a bot token into Settings → Session → Discord Bot. Without a token, NIMIA does not connect to Discord at all.
You create the token yourself in Discord's Developer Portal. NIMIA stores it on your PC, encrypted by Windows, and sends it only to Discord. Forget token deletes it.
What goes to Discord:
The sound is end-to-end encrypted with Discord's DAVE protocol.
What comes back: the names of the servers and voice channels the bot is in, the names of the people in those channels, which NIMIA shows in Settings, and the commands people type for the bot. NIMIA keeps these in memory only while it runs.
The bot joins deafened and does not read messages.
For troubleshooting, NIMIA writes discord-bot.log on your PC with connection and command events, but no names, IDs, token or audio. It is overwritten every time NIMIA starts.
What Discord does with any of this is governed by Discord's Privacy Policy.
If you write to support@nimiaapp.com, your address and message are used only to answer you, on the basis of legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), and deleted once they are no longer needed.

You can ask for access to your personal data, its correction or deletion, a copy of it, or restriction of or objection to its use, at support@nimiaapp.com. You can also complain to the Czech data protection authority, ÚOOÚ (uoou.gov.cz), or to the one where you live.
NIMIA does not use your microphone, camera, location or contacts, and it reads no files of yours except the ones you choose to import.
In the Microsoft Store version, Windows may ask about the camera the first time you open Settings → Audio, because listing your speakers triggers that question. Answering No changes nothing.
NIMIA is not directed at children and collects no personal data from anyone.
If this policy changes, the date below changes with it.

NIMIA, The Bard Lost in Limbo
The short version. NIMIA is licensed to you under Microsoft's standard licence for Store apps, and these terms add what is specific to NIMIA. The bundled recordings stay under their authors' licences, and YouTube and Discord have their own terms. None of this limits your rights as a consumer.
Your licence to install and use NIMIA is governed by Microsoft's Standard Application License Terms for Microsoft Store apps. These terms add the points below. NIMIA is a one-time purchase, with no subscription.
The 104 recordings that ship with NIMIA were made by other people, mostly found on Freesound, OpenGameArt and the Free Music Archive. They are licensed under CC0, CC BY or CC BY-SA, apart from a few under their own terms, and Settings → Credits lists every author and licence.
Playing them through NIMIA at your own table needs nothing from you.
If you stream, publish a recording in which they can be heard, or use a file outside NIMIA, that file's own licence applies. CC0 asks nothing. CC BY asks you to credit the author. CC BY-SA asks you to credit the author and to release your version under the same licence. The CC BY-SA files, as modified for NIMIA, are published at github.com/tokypt/nimia-audio
Music you import stays yours and stays on your PC. If you play it through the Discord bot, making sure you may play it to others is up to you.
The YouTube music source is off until you choose it. By using it you agree to be bound by YouTube's Terms of Service, at youtube.com/t/terms, and Google's Privacy Policy applies, at google.com/policies/privacy
NIMIA does not modify, replace, interfere with or block YouTube's advertising, and you may not use NIMIA to try to. Not every video will play: owners can forbid embedding, and many music rights-holders do. When that happens NIMIA says so and offers to open the video in your browser instead.
The Discord status and the Discord bot are off until you turn them on. What they send is listed in the privacy policy. Discord's own Terms of Service apply to your use of Discord.
The bot is yours: you create it in Discord's Developer Portal under your own Discord account, so Discord's developer terms apply to it, and you are responsible for your bot and for keeping its token private. The bot depends on Discord's service, which Discord may change at any time. NIMIA is not affiliated with Discord.
NIMIA comes with no guarantees beyond those the law gives you. It cannot promise that every computer, audio driver, or outside service such as YouTube or Discord will work with it. Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights as a consumer.
You buy NIMIA through the Microsoft Store, which handles payment and refunds under its own terms. Refund requests go through Microsoft.
Anything about the app itself: support@nimiaapp.com
If you are a consumer and a dispute with the developer cannot be settled directly, you can turn to the Czech Trade Inspection Authority (Česká obchodní inspekce): adr.coi.cz
The music and sound effects were recorded by people, and each author is credited in the app. The code and parts of the design were made with AI tools.
If these terms change, the date below changes with them. A change does not take away rights you already had.
